Building a Child Friendly Home

Making your house child-friendly should be one of your priorities, preparing months before the little one comes. Most of the child-proofing concerns involve the home interiors. Place covers on electrical outlets and latches on cabinets. Set the hot water heater somewhere between 120 and 130 degrees Fahrenheit.
Store chemicals out of children’s reach and inside tightly sealed containers. Install stair gates, window guards, smoke alarms, and fire detectors. Replace furniture with sharp edges or use soft guards. Secure appliances that may tip over. Remove breakable and small items from low surfaces. Keep children off stoves, heaters, and burners. Close the bathroom door all the time that it is not in use. Be picky when it comes to domesticated animals. You should make your home as safe for your baby as possible.
