Facts on Human Milk

Breast milk is still the best way to feed babies. Artificial baby milk is not the second choice for feeding infants, but the fourth and last alternative to baby feeding. This is because the second choice is feeding the mother’s milk in a different way and the third is feeding with another mother’s milk.

No matter how formula manufacturers make scientifically produced artificial baby milk, creating something that parallels human milk is impossible. Breast milk contains live cells, hormones, active enzymes, immunoglobulin, and special compounds that cannot be replicated. In addition, the exact chemical make-up of human milk remains unknown.

When breastfeeding is impossible or impractical, baby formula should be chosen carefully and critically. Parents can go for commercially prepared infant milk that is fortified with necessary vitamins and minerals. If there are doubts, it is always advisable to seek professional help.
